Why the container matters as much as the location
Most legal states treat cannabis behind the wheel like an open container of alcohol. The package has to be closed and sealed, and the driver has to have no access to it. A ziplock in the door pocket with one sealed joint inside can still read as an open container. That is the part people miss. What to check before you leave
- The possession limit where you are and where you are going.
- The vehicle storage rule. Some states want it in the trunk, some accept any sealed container out of the driver's reach, and some spell out a locked compartment.

Leave the sandwich bag and the pill bottle at home. Both leak odor within minutes, and neither protects the flower from being crushed.

Heat is the real enemy
