Award-Winning Cannabis Brands: How to Read the List
A practical guide to award-winning cannabis brands: which competitions matter, which names keep placing, and how to verify a trophy claim.
If you want the short answer: Cookies is the top cannabis brand overall for most online shoppers in the US, with Connected Cannabis, Raw Garden, STIIIZY, and Wyld filling out the rest of the list depending on whether you want flower, vape cartridges, or edibles. These names appear on licensed dispensary menus in multiple states, which makes them lower-risk picks when you compare top cannabis brands and decide where to spend.
Award-Winning Cannabis Brands: How to Read the List
How this comparison was built
Cannabis is regulated state by state, so no brand is available everywhere. The picks below were weighed on the factors that matter when you buy weed online:
- Availability: how many legal states and licensed retailers carry the brand.
- Consistency: whether the same product line tastes and performs the same between batches.
- Range: flower, pre-rolls, vapes, concentrates, and edibles under one label.
- Testing disclosure: whether batch lab results are easy to find on the package or listing.
- Price tier: whether the brand sits at premium, mid, or value pricing.
1. Cookies: best overall pick
Cookies started as a Bay Area breeding project and grew into one of the most recognized names in legal cannabis, with licensed production in several states. Its reputation rests on genetics such as Gary Payton and Cereal Milk, which now show up in flower, pre-roll, vape, and concentrate form.
Best Craft Cannabis Brands: A Comparison Review
- Strong for shoppers who want a known cultivar rather than a generic label.
- Wide product range, so you can stay with one brand across categories.
- Premium pricing in most markets, with occasional value lines.
2. Connected Cannabis: best for flower quality
Connected, along with its sister label Alien Labs, is known for Gelato 41, Biscotti, and similar dessert-leaning genetics. Batches tend to be small and hand-trimmed, and the brand is usually stocked in higher-end retailers.
top luxury cannabis brands reviewed
- Pick this if flower is your main purchase.
- Expect limited strain availability compared with mass-market labels.
3. Raw Garden: best for vape cartridges
Raw Garden built its following on refined live resin cartridges, positioned between standard distillate and full live resin on price. The flavor profile is consistent across the core line, which helps when you are ordering without seeing the product first.
- Good middle tier for daily vape use.
- Cartridge hardware and oil color are fairly uniform between batches.
4. STIIIZY: best pod system
STIIIZY is the brand most shoppers associate with closed pod vapes, plus a smaller flower and edible line. The pods are easy to find, which matters if you want a battery and pod setup you can restock in most legal states.
- Strong convenience factor, weaker on craft flower reputation.
- Buy pods only from licensed sellers to avoid counterfeit hardware.
5. Wyld: best edibles
Wyld makes fruit-forward gummies with clear dosing per piece, and it is a common shelf staple in West Coast and expanding Midwest markets. For shoppers who prefer edibles over inhalables, it is the most predictable choice on this list.
What to check before you buy weed online
- License number: a legitimate listing shows the retailer or brand license for that state.
- Batch date and lab results: potency and contaminant testing should be verifiable.
- State rules: brands like Cookies operate through different licensed partners in different states, so the same name can mean a different grower.
- Counterfeits: packaging is easy to copy, so price far below market is a warning sign.
- Shipping terms: cannabis cannot cross state lines, so delivery stays within the state that sold it.
Bottom line
Cookies is the safest first pick if you want one brand that covers flower, vapes, and pre-rolls. Choose Connected for premium flower, Raw Garden for resin vapes, STIIIZY for pod convenience, and Wyld for edibles. Match the brand to the category you actually buy, and confirm the seller is licensed in your state before checkout.
