Cannabis Blunt Wrap Sizes: Which Size Holds What
Blunt wrap sizes run from 4-inch cigarillo leaves to 5-inch king wraps and 110mm cones. See what each size holds and how to pick one.
A blunt is cannabis rolled in a tobacco leaf or a ready-made blunt wrap. With wraps, the work is simpler than with a whole leaf: the paper is already flattened, cut to size, and most packs come with a gum line you just moisten and press. Split or unroll the wrap, fill it with ground flower, tuck the near edge, roll it tight, seal, and let it sit a few minutes before you light up.

Wraps come in a few styles. Tobacco leaf wraps have a noticeable flavor and contain nicotine. Hemp wraps burn a bit faster and taste closer to the flower itself. Neither is better, it comes down to whether you want the tobacco taste in the mix.

Pull one wrap from the pack and hold it between your palms for a minute. Cold wraps crack when you bend them. If yours is a split-leaf style, break it along the center seam and set one half aside for later. The other half is your rolling paper.
Grind to a medium texture. Too fine and it pulls through into your mouth, too chunky and the burn tunnels down one side. About half a gram to a gram fits a standard wrap. Spread the flower along the length, a touch heavier in the middle and thinner toward the ends. That taper is what gives you an even burn.
Lay the wrap flat with the gum line at the top, facing away from you. Pinch the front edge up and over the flower with both thumbs, working from the center toward each end. Roll it once to shape the tube, then tuck the near edge under the bud and keep rolling. Firm is good. Rock hard is not, because no air moves and the draw turns into a chore.
Run your tongue along the gum line, or wet a fingertip and trace a thin line if you would rather not lick it. Press the seam closed and smooth it down with your thumb. Let the blunt rest for a few minutes. It dries, tightens, and holds its shape. When you light it, rotate the tip over the flame and get a full cherry going before you take a pull. Tap the ash off as you go.
Blunts are not a low-impact option just because they feel casual. The tobacco leaf adds nicotine and its own combustion products to what you are inhaling, and blunt smoke tends to be harsher than a joint because of the wrapper. Wraps sold as tobacco products carry age restrictions, and cannabis rules differ from state to state, so check what applies where you are before you buy.
