Label math
Raw cannabis holds most of its THC as THCA, an acid that does not produce a strong high until heat converts it. The conversion factor is 0.877, because THCA loses a carbon dioxide molecule when it becomes THC. A sample with 0.5% delta-9 THC and 25% THCA lands at about 22.4% total THC. Labels that list both numbers are easier to check against the lab report.

Weight per roll matters more than roll count. A ten-pack of 0.35 g rolls holds 3.5 g of flower. A five-pack of 1 g rolls holds 5 g. Check both numbers.
Infused pre rolls
Infused rolls carry added concentrate: distillate, live resin, kief, hash, or oil applied to the paper or the flower. A 1 g roll at 50% THC holds about 500 mg of THC. A 0.5 g roll at 40% THC holds about 200 mg. That is far above a single 10 mg edible serving. Split an infused roll across several sessions or share it.
Lab tests
State licensed labs report potency plus pesticides, mold, heavy metals, and residual solvents. Colorado and other legal states require these panels for retail flower and pre rolls. The document should list a batch number, a test date, and a harvest date. A test dated more than six months back is stale for a fresh product.
Dose and tolerance
Inhaled THC reaches the blood in seconds and peaks in 10 to 30 minutes. Start with one or two puffs, then wait 15 minutes before the next. Daily use of high potency products raises tolerance and raises the risk of cannabis use disorder. A break of 2 to 3 weeks brings tolerance down.
Storage
Keep packs at 60 F to 70 F and 55% to 62% relative humidity. Light and heat break down THC. A sealed glass jar with a humidity pack holds potency for 6 to 12 months. Pre rolls dry faster than whole flower because more surface area sees air.
US rules
Federal law treats cannabis above 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight as a controlled substance. Hemp pre rolls stay under that line and carry little THC. State programs set their own purchase limits, often 1 oz of flower per transaction for adults 21 and older. Rules differ by state, so check the label and the store limit where you shop.
