What Is a Herb Dispensary?
A herb dispensary is a state-licensed store that sells cannabis flower and related products. Rules cover age, ID, purchase limits, and lab testing.
There is no national opening time for cannabis stores. Hours come from three sources: state law, city or county rules, and the store's own schedule. Most US dispensaries open between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and close between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. local time.
Some states leave hours to local control. Others write a window into statute. A store in one state can run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. while a store in a neighboring state stays open until 10 p.m. Medical and adult-use licenses can carry different hours in the same state.
Most stores open seven days a week. Sunday hours are often shorter. Some stores close one weekday for restocking. Holiday schedules change: many close on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. April 20 brings longer lines and, at some shops, extended hours.
Store hours and delivery hours are not the same. A shop can close its doors at 9 p.m. and still run deliveries until 10 p.m., or stop delivery earlier. Online order cutoff times run before closing. An order placed at 8:50 p.m. may wait until the next morning.
Herb Dispensary vs Cannabis Dispensary
Hours are local to the store. A purchase from a shop in another time zone follows that shop's clock, not yours.
Details vary by state and city. Confirm with the store before you travel.
