2. Voltage setting

Most 510 batteries adjust from 2.0 V to 4.8 V. Distillate needs 3.0 V to 3.8 V. Live resin and rosin need 2.2 V to 2.8 V. A battery set at 2.0 V may fire, light the LED, and produce no visible vapor, because the coil never reaches the boiling point of the oil.

Press the button three times to cycle voltage. Check the LED color. Green is the lowest step on most models, red is the highest. Hold the button and take a 3-second draw at the highest setting. If vapor appears, the setting was the fault.

3. Clogged airway or dry wick

Oil pulled into the center tube blocks airflow. Signs: hard draw, gurgling, oil in the mouthpiece.

Run a preheat cycle. Most batteries hold 2.0 V for 10 to 15 seconds when the button is pressed twice. That warms the oil and clears the tube. If the clog stays, insert a thin wire or a paper clip into the mouthpiece and pull out the plug.

Check the oil level against the intake holes on the side of the coil head. Once the oil drops below those holes, the wick burns dry. Add oil or replace the cart.

4. Dead coil

A coil that reads as an open circuit will not heat. The battery sees no load and cuts output. Some batteries blink three times. Others light steady and stop.

Signs: burnt taste, no vapor, cart warm at the base but not at the coil, oil level unchanged after several draws. A cart at the end of its life does this. Expect 1 g to 2 g of oil per coil. Replace the cartridge.

5. Charge and lockout

Charge the battery for 30 to 60 minutes on the supplied cable. A 350 mAh to 650 mAh stick needs 45 minutes to 2 hours for a full charge. A red or blinking LED during a draw means low charge, not a fault.

A battery that gets hot, smells like burnt plastic, or shows a swollen case is a fire risk. Stop using it. Lithium cells in vape batteries vent and ignite. Do not charge a damaged battery indoors.
